Yosemite Climbing Expedition
Yosemite is the birthplace of every major development in the sport of rock climbing, and this itinerary is a tribute to this very special climbing location. Perfect for a group of adrenalin seekers with moderate to advanced climbing experience, this itinerary comes complete with equipment drops offs, an experienced instructor and 3 guided summit attempts of some of Yosemite’s most renowned climbs.
Day 1
About Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, and for Tunnel View, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. In Yosemite Village are shops, restaurants, lodging, the Yosemite Museum and the Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned black-and-white landscapes of the area.
Yosemite Valley has been the site for almost every major development in the sport of rock climbing and continues to be a place where world-class climbers are honing their skills, breaking records and changing our understanding of what is possible for human strength and endurance.
Yosemite Climbing Skills Workshop
Your tour guide will begin your Yosemite Climbing Workshop at your campsite by issuing and providing safety instructions for your gear. Your guide will also give you a run down of the weather conditions for your upcoming climbs.
You and your group will then hike with your guide into the Yosemite valley for the day where you will practise valuable skills, assess conditions and skills and get prepared for the climbs to follow throughout the week. You will end your workshop with emergency training and team building exercises.
Day 2
Central Pillar of Frenzy - Half Day
One of the most popular line ups the middle of the Cathedral's left face. This climb is a lot of fun and is the perfect first climb for you and your group to experience during your Yosemite climbing expedition.

Rest day
Take some time to explore the low lying areas of the Yosemite National Park. This rest day is crucial for replenishing your energy stores for the two largest climbs ahead
Day 4
Luxury Sedan
This rental car takes you comfortably from A to B. It comes with a lot of great features that make up for the ultimate driving experience on the European highways
El Capitan Free Climb
This day climb is not for the faint hearted. You will be attempting to summit one of Yosemite's most notorious rock formations, El Capitan. Your tour guide will assess the best route to take based on the conditions presented on the day. Weather permitting, those in your group that feel comfortable will be offered an opportunity to complete this ascent as a free climb - a climbing practice that has become infamous in the Yosemite Valley.
Day 5
Lunch at The Carabiner
This funky Sacramento restaurant is the perfect lunch spot for climbers and hikers to refuel. Praised by locals for their Half Dome burger and vibrant atmosphere, this delightful eatery is the perfect way to start your day in Sacramento.
Day trip to Sacramento
Sacramento, capital of the U.S. state of California, lies at the confluence of the Sacramento River and American River. The district of Old Sacramento harkens back to the city’s Gold Rush era, with wooden sidewalks and wagon rides. Your day trip here is all about relaxing and replenishing your energy for the Half Dome ascent to follow.
Drive to Sacramento
Your tour guide will meet you at your campsite at 10:00am from there you will take the 2 hour 40 minute drive north west to Sacramento.
Sports Massage Package
Treat yourself to a 2 hour relaxation experience at the Sacramento Day Spa. Starting with a deep sports massage , your therapist will work with you to target any spots that you would like to work on ahead of your Half Dome climb. Followed by a rejuvenating facial and hot pool session, you will be left feeling relaxed and limber ready for your final ascent.
Return to Yosemite
After a day getting refreshed in Sacramento your guide will transfer you via car back to your campsite in Yosemite Valley.
Day 6
Hike from Happy Isles up the Mist Trail through Little Yosemite Valley
While the physical ascent of Half Dome takes between 10 and 12 hours, this climb is going to be completed over a 2 day period, with the first day being a guided hike through Little Yosemite Valley and up the Mist Trail. This hike follows the Merced River and is jam packed with stunning sites, including the Vernal Fall, Emerald Pool and Nevada Fall. You will set up camp at the base of Half Dome.
Day 7
Half Dome ascent
Today you and your group will be ascending the world famous, Half Dome, located on the eastern end of Yosemite National Park. This full day climb is strenuous and will push you to your limits with it's estimated 10 to 12 hour climb time. From the top you can expect panoramic views of Yosemite Valley and the High Sierra.
